About as honest as any official involved with investigating what happened in #uvalde has been to this point. Where is everybody else???? . . Reposted from @shaunking ➡️ WATCH THIS. Now, what I’m about to say won’t bring back the lives of the 19 children and 2 teachers these police let got slaughtered, but I want to take a moment to thank Steve McGraw, a lifelong cop, and the head of the Texas Department of Public Safety, for telling the truth in the hearing for Uvalde today. Police normally do not do this. Trust me, we’ve needed cops to say hard shit for the pst decade and they rarely do. Steve is a serious conservative but has always treated me and @LeeMerrittESQ with nothing but respect. We’ve both had moments where we concluded that Steve is a man of integrity - or at least aims to be. And that’s about all you can ask for sometimes. Now that he has gone on the record to call what these police did “an abject failure” we want to know… WHAT NEXT? 1. Do they all keep their jobs? 2. Will you release body camera footage from the hallways, etc? 3. Will you release records that have been requested by me and hundreds of other media companies? 4. Will anyone lose their badge and gun? Anything? Other than this important first step, what’s next?
