At the end of a very hard week, how cathartic to ring the bell at the @nyproton to celebrate the end of treatment. I have been in crisis mode since January 15th, and now I am trying to breathe and process all that has happened. What I’m struck by, more than anything, is what a human experience illness is. All the way through, it has been a mantra of sorts. It has kept me from bitterness, or any sense of anger, or unfairness. I truly don’t feel those things. I am a human being living a remarkable life and this chapter is a part of that life. Hopefully there will be many more chapters for me to share with you all. For now, I am home with in the country with my beloved @mmaren and little Otis. The first thing I did when I got home was water all the parched plants. “I’m back,” I told each one of them. “I’m back.” I love you.
