Call it a morbid fascination but I love cemeteries, especially this one 🖤 I could (and do!) walk around Oakland Cemetery for hours, always learning something new about its residents — that’s what they’re called. 🤭 Historical figures are buried here. People who shaped Atlanta history are buried here. But what always amazes me is seeing all the different ways the living honor the dead: sob-inducing tributes engraved in stone, tomato offerings, or commissioning the wildest bronze statue of Ma and Pa playing cards (seriously…wut). Anyway, remember to go for a walk.
