Chronic illness isn’t linear.
Chronic illness isn’t linear. Fibromyalgia doesn’t mean every day looks the same. Some days my body asks me to rest. Some days it reminds me to slow down. And some days it lets me do things I once thought I’d lost forever. As someone who’s neurodivergent, I’ve discovered that both aerial arts and BJJ do something really special for my brain. They’re physical puzzles. They demand focus, body awareness, problem-solving, and trust. For a little while, the constant mental noise gets quieter. I’m still learning what this journey looks like, but I’m sharing it because I know so many people living with chronic illness feel like they have to choose between doing too much or doing nothing at all. Maybe there’s another option: finding movement that meets you where you are. Huge thank you to the people who’ve made me feel safe enough to explore what’s possible: 🤸♀️ @caitli4nia 🤸♀️ @viviannnnx 🤸♀️ @alyssa.tcchen 🤸♀️ @haleyla 🥋 @telosbjj 🥋 @phrodriguesjj 🥋 @zousri
