Episodes 534 & 535: Getting Dressed in NYC 2025 Part I and II On our recent fashion history day tours of NYC, we spent an entire afternoon immersed in the historical trove that is @nyhistory . Past Dressed guest Cheyney McKnight spoke to us about the important role clothing played in her journey and work as a historic interpreter and Manager of Living History for the New-York Historical Society. Following our visit with Cheyney McKnight of @notyourmommashistory, we enjoyed a docent led tour of the museum’s Tiffany Gallery, which puts on view one of the world’s largest collections of Tiffany lamps—more than 100 examples. We concluded our time with curator-led tour of the exhibition Real Clothes, Real Lives: 200 Years of What Women Wore, which offers a glimpse of the everyday wardrobes of “ the ‘real’ women who have worked and dressed in America for two centuries.” Led by the exhibition’s co-curator and past Dressed guest, @kerenbenhorin, “this groundbreaking exhibition examines the everyday clothing of ordinary women, from hard-worn house dresses to psychedelic micro minis and modern suits to fast-food workers’ uniforms” on loan from The Smith College Historic Clothing Collection founded by the exhibition’s co-curator Kiki Smith. #fashionhistory #dressedpodcast
