Give me lived in “ordinary” clothes over “high” fashion any day!!

Give me lived in “ordinary” clothes over “high” fashion any day!! So many wonderful stories sewn into the seams of these garments. Episodes 534 & 535 of @dressed_podcast: Getting Dressed in NYC 2025 Part I and II On our recent fashion history day tours of NYC, we spent an entire afternoon immersed in the historical trove that is @nyhistory. Our time included a curator-led tour of the exhibition Real Clothes, Real Lives: 200 Years of What Women Wore, which offers a glimpse of the everyday wardrobes of “ the ‘real’ women who have worked and dressed in America for two centuries.” Led by the exhibition’s co-curator and past Dressed guest, @kerenbenhorin, “this groundbreaking exhibition examines the everyday clothing of ordinary women, from hard-worn house dresses to psychedelic micro minis and modern suits to fast-food workers’ uniforms” on loan from The Smith College Historic Clothing Collection founded by the exhibition’s co-curator Kiki Smith. #fashionhistory #dressedpodcast
