OK, are we moving a little TOO fast with AI?
OK, are we moving a little TOO fast with AI? I think we might be. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said over the weekend that it’s time to “pace the frontier” of AI development. Sam Altman and Elon Musk voiced support, and I’m with them. I’m definitely not saying stop innovating. I love this technology. But, AI is now helping researchers build even smarter AI. At some point, shouldn’t our ability to understand and control this stuff keep up with how fast we’re making it more powerful? I absolutely want America to lead in AI. But getting the newest, smartest model out first isn’t really “winning” if we can’t confidently control what it can do. Especially because we’re not just giving AI more intelligence anymore. We’re giving it more authority. So innovate like crazy, but if control can’t keep pace with capability? Tap the brakes. Shared my take this morning on iHeartRadio’s KFBK Morning News.
