Today we honor the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures. The presence of strong, loving, and engaged fathers remains one of the greatest gifts we can give the next generation. Today, I also honor and remember our founder and my father, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., whose life was a testament to faith, sacrifice, and service. His example reminds us that true leadership begins at home and extends into the work of building a more just and compassionate world. As we honor fathers today, let us recommit ourselves to raising young people who know their worth, their history, and their responsibility to one another. The strength of our families will determine the strength of our communities, and the strength of our communities will determine the future of America. Happy Father’s Day. Yusef D. Jackson
