⚠️Vulnerable Post: I didn’t think I would ever be able to do aerial again.

⚠️Vulnerable Post: I didn’t think I would ever be able to do aerial again. It’s one of my greatest joys and I can barely tackle stairs most days. My condition worsened significantly since 2024, although my symptoms were present long before. This winter, I was grateful to have a mobility aid to rely on when the “zings” and “zaps” in my legs were so intense they were almost unbearable. The thing is: with invisible illness, you’re not only dealing with pain, exhaustion, brain fog, strange sensations, and overwhelm (and in my case connective tissue issues), you’re dealing with individuals judging based on what they can and cannot see. Most people want to be helpful, making well-meaning suggestions, but there is no cure or recovery. Just good days and bad days. So on the good days: we #mobilitymaxx. And on the bad days, we rest and accommodate. Aerial has now become something I’m even prouder of. *I’m doing it now with a disability.* To anyone else who is struggling silently. Just know I’m here. I see you. And this is a safe space. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk… this feed is becoming as unpredictable as my illness! xx wen
