Episode 578 of @dressed_podcast: Charlotte Brontë’s Life Through Clothes with @eleanorhoughtonhistorian This small fragment of printed muslin is thought to have come from a dress once worn by Charlotte Brontë. To find out more, read ‘Charlotte Brontë’s Life Through Clothes’ (Bloomsbury, 2026) by Eleanor Houghton, out now. Images of Charlotte’s actual fabric, ©️Brontë Society (taken by EH), all other fabrics dated to between 1835 and 1860, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and all drawings, paintings and other images ©️Eleanor Houghton. #brontë #brontes #dresshistory #nineteenthcentury #dresshistorian
