Fashion history at the Met Gala: @teyanataylor arriving in a dramatic pinstriped zoot suit, a style distinctive to Black and Latinx communities in the 1930s and 40s who wore it as both a marker of identity and resistance. The suit is famously associated with jazz artists such as Cab Calloway and youth subcultures including the pachucas and pachucos. The zoot suit at right is in the collection of @lacma.
