Flashback Friday to when Mya was showing us signs of autism… and we didn’t even know it yet. Just our girl, happy as could be, flapping away! Looking back at old pictures and videos now, there are so many little things that make us say, “How did we not know?” At the time, it was simply Mya being Mya. We didn’t have an autism diagnosis yet. We didn’t know that hand flapping could be a form of stimming or a way for her to express excitement. We just knew this was something she did when she was happy.
