Read to your children. Read to your nieces and nephews. To your godchildren. Right now. Read to them. Read with them. Put books in their hands today. The literacy rates in this country are declining, and that should terrify all of us. A child who struggles to read will grow up to struggle to question. Will grow up to struggle to analyze and will fail to recognize when they’re being manipulated. And with AI, this only becomes more important. It is by design that literacy rates are dropping. A population that can think and question is difficult to manipulate. Throughout our history, access to education and literacy hasn’t been equal. Too many communities have had to fight for the right to learn, to read, AND!!!!!!!! to tell our own stories. We can’t take that for granted. The greatest act of resistance is reading to your child. @lil_libros
