I’ve tried for years, but eventually I just gave up when it comes to putting into words why the Kentucky State Fair! is the most special place on Earth. If it weren’t for my desire to remain married and be a part of my children’s lives, I’d spend every day, every hour, every second at the Kentucky State Fair for its entire run. Boredom? Not a chance. I could just walk around and observe. Take it all in. All of it. I feel for those who don’t have the ability to appreciate the carnie culture. The people. The sounds. The smells. The food. The livestock. The exhibits. The midway. The absolute collection of humanity that somehow comes together in one place and creates the best people watching situation you’ll ever experience. We’re a week away.
