🚇 METRO CHANGED THE SIGNS... AND WASHINGTON HAS THOUGHTS. If you've been through L'Enfant Plaza lately, you may have noticed something looks different. What's happening: Metro has started rolling out a new signage and wayfinding system, with plans to eventually update stations across the entire system. Why it matters: Metro says the goal is actually pretty simple: make it easier to figure out where you're going, which platform you need and which exit gets you where you want to be. But... not everybody loves it. Some riders are questioning changes like removing terminal destinations from certain trackside signs, while others are wondering why Metro needed to mess with something so iconic in the first place. Metro says the information isn't disappearing. Some of it is being moved closer to where riders actually make those decisions, including platforms, escalators and digital displays. And yes, Helvetica survives. 😂 The bigger picture: This isn't just an L'Enfant Plaza experiment. Metro expects the new wayfinding system to roll out across the network over about five years. 👇 DMV, your turn: Do the new signs make Metro easier to navigate... or did they “fix” something that wasn't broken? And if you don't ride Metro every day, I'm especially curious: Would these signs make more sense to you as a visitor? 📸/Reporting: The Washington Post Information: WMATA #DCMetro #WMATA #WashingtonDC #DMV #dcnews
